Encuentro en la parada del autobús (Meeting at the bus stop)

Hecho verídico. True fact.

- Sorry, I couldn't hear you. What did you say? (Lo siento, no podía oírte. ¿Qué has dicho?)
- Can I touch your hat, please, please? It's soo furry! It must be very soft!!

- Yeahh, it's sooo soft! I really like your hat, by the way.

- Where are you from? (¿De dónde eres?)
- I'm from Spain. (Soy de España)
- Spain!! AWESOME!!!

Me hizo sonreír.

- Can you say some words in Spanish?? (¿¿Puedes decir algunas palabras en español??)
- Which words? (¿Qué palabras?)
- Any!! (¡¡Cualquiera!!)
- Estoy esperando el autobús.
- COOOL!!! What does it mean?? (¡¡¡GENIAL!!! ¿Qué significa?)
- I'm waiting for the bus.
- Ohhh! Say it again. (¡Ohhh! Dilo otra vez)
- Estoy esperando el autobús.
- Eretooy erando el orobus. I said it rigth? (¿Lo he dicho bien?)
- Almost.- respondi con una sonrisa. (Casi)
- How do you swear in Spanish? Say something.

- Ohhh, cooool. Cabrón!! What does it mean? (Ohhh, geniaaal. ¡¡Cabrón!! ¿Qué significa?)
- It's like jerk, but stronger.
And... how do you say..?- se inclinó sobre mí y me habló al oído.- Fuck off? Sorry! (¿Que te jodan? ¡Lo siento!)

Sonreí.

- Que te jodan.
- Ohhh. Que...te...jodan!! Now I can say that and my parents won't understand me!! What's your name? (Ohhh. ¡¡Ahora puedo decir eso y mis padres no me entenderán!! ¿Cómo te llamas?)
- Ana.
- Anaaa!! Cool! I like it.

- Have five, Ana!! (¡¡Choca esos cinco, Ana!!)

- What bus are you waiting for? (¿Que autobús estás esperando?)
- The bus from the University.

- Bye!!
- How do you say bye in Spanish??

I left the bag over the floor and sat down in the bench of the bus stop, with my eyes fixed in the other side of the road, waiting for the next bus to come. I heard a voice talking to me over the music of my mp3. I turned and saw two girls, of fourteen or fifteen, looking at me. One of them was quiet and the other one was saying something fast. She sat next to me. I put off the headphones.

- Sorry, I couldn't hear you. What did you say?
- Can I touch your hat, please, please? It's soo furry! It must be very soft!!

I blinked, a but surprised, but nodded and leaned my head so she could touch it. After doing it she stood up, jumping.

- Yeahh, it's sooo soft! I really like your hat, by the way.

The girl began talking too fast again, to her friend, and I couldn't understand them well. Finally she placed herself in front of me and looked at me seriously.

- Where are you from?
- I'm from Spain.
- Spain!! AWESOME!!!

She almost fell backwards by the surprise. It made me smile.

- Can you say some words in Spanish??
- Which words?
- Any!!
- Estoy esperando el autobús.
- COOOL!!! What does it mean??
- I'm waiting for the bus.
- Ohhh! Say it again.
- Estoy esperando el autobús.
- Eretooy erando el orobus. I said it rigth?
- Almost.- I said with a smile.
- How do you swear in Spanish? Say something.

I thought for a few moments but at the end, I said the word I always have behind the tip of my tongue.

- Cabrón.
- Ohhh, cooool. Cabrón!! What does it mean?
- It's like jerk, but stronger.
- Haha.- she laughed, and turned to her friend saying.
- Cabrón, cabrón!!! And... how do you say..?- she leaned and whispered in my ear.- Fuck off? Sorry!

I smiled.

- Que te jodan.
- Ohhh. Que...te...jodan!! Now I can say that and my parents won't understand me!! What's your name?
- Ana.
- Anaaa!! Cool! I like it.

In that moment a bus came. I took my shopping bar and stood up. The girl did the same.

- Have five, Ana!!

I had five with her and approached the bus. But that one didn't go to the University, so I went again to the bus stop. The girl came near.

- What bus are you waiting for?
- The bus from the University.

Another bus stopped then in front of us and before I could approach the door, the girl asked the driver if that bus was going to the University. When he nodded, the girl made me a gesture like saying "Go ahead, you can take this one. Don't thank me", and that made me laugh again. I waved at her and said:

- Bye!!
- How do you say bye in Spanish??
- Adiós.

It was my turn to pay and enter into the bus. I took a seat by the window and when the vehicle started to move, I saw the girl waving at me and shouting:

- Adiooooosss Anaaaaaa!!!

That meeting made me smile all the way to the Campus.
