I have never done a barbecue in my house; it's a small flat, in a third floor, and although we have a large terrace, it isn't wide enough.
I usually spend holidays at home. When I was a child, we used to go to Almuñecar in summer and one year we went to Cabo de Gata, but I don't mind to be in Granada during holidays. I have all I need there.
I always read at home. There is a reading habit in my family and we have many books. My mum gets angry with me because most of the time, I do nothing else but read. When I go to the toilet carrying a book with me, I can spend hours there.
One of the best things to being home is having my friends there. I miss them terribly now. Wait for me, I'll come back soon!
Unfortunately... in my house we don't have a bath. Our shower is amazing, but I miss to take a bath in hot water. Because of that, when I go to a hotel with bath, I always fill it to the limit, then go into and try to stay there as long as I can.
My house is full of stories. Since I was born, I have lived there. And if there's a need for more, I'm here to imagine new ones.
My house has a homey design, or at least for me. My dad has made the majority of the furniture and now we're replacing the floor for a wood one and reformating the living-room. That's why the flat is always a bit messy.
Baking isn't a deeply-rooted tradition at home. From time to time my mum and I make a sponge cake or pancakes, but nothing else. I wanna bake cookies someday.
In my house there isn't smoke at all, my parents stopped smoking many years ago.
I have always felt very grateful to live where I live, and one of the main reasons for that it's silence. During the year we hardly hear any noise, except for summer, when our neighbours kick up a fuss in the bar.
Like in every home, I have duties. One of the most important arguments between my mum and I it's due to home tasks. I think I'm doing enough, she thinks the opposite... But that's a never ending story.
My family like cards a lot. I remember when my grandparents came to visit us... and my parents played with them to a card game called Remigio. I used to observe how they played until they teached me. Now, though they don't come anymore, we still play it.
Although we have high temperature in summer, my house is never too hot. I mean, as far as it goes, and some ventilators as a way of help. I usually quarrel with my brother about the possession of the biggest one.
Like in every normal family, we also have problems from time to time. Nothing too serious, fortunately. Should I sweep or it's my brother's turn? Who has to clean the cats' litter? Or sometimes, why are you so late? Why didn't you call me? But that's all.
I have to thank that Death hasn't come to my house yet. Well, except for some quick visits. God blesses my old pets.
In my house there are a lot of kisses. Goodmorning kisses and goodnights kisses, "please, don't get angry" kisses or "I love you so much!" kisses.
Although I'm damn difficult for food, I enjoy most of my mum's dishes and my dad's sunday pizza. I miss it.
Peace and war, war and peace... there are both in every home. And while peace win over war, everything will be okay.
Kids. In my house there are no kids anymore, at least from my point of view. I guess from my parent's point of view my brother and I are still a pain in their necks. The only young visitor that we have occasionally is my little cousin, and when she's there, the house is a happier place.
Prayers aren't very present at home. I'm agnostic and my brother isn't a believer, either. My mum is, but not in a very open way. I have always known that my dad didn't take Lord's side, because he never opened his mouth when we went to a mass.
As I said before, my home is a small flat, not a mansion. But I'm happy. We have good views and our neighbourhood is a quiet place.
My address always seems to me at least a curious name. Cercado de Miraflores, whose approximate translation would be "Fence of Look at Flowers", or something like that. I thought we changed our phone number once... or is it just my imagination?
In our refrigerator there are always beer and pineapple juice. Beer, and wine as well, for my parents and the pineapple juice for my brother. I usually drink water, but sometimes I prefer peach juice, grape juice, beer, red wine with lemon or ice tea, though none of those drinks have a reserved place in the fridge.
No me corre demasiada prisa. I don't know how many years I'll stay at home... but I'm okay with my current situation. I'm not in a hurry.
The clothes I wear were a problem years ago. Though my mum and I have some things in common, our preferences are very different. But now she respects my criteria.
At home we have good times and bad times, as everyone else. I mentioned arguments before, so... our good moments always happen at the end of the day, at night, when we have dinner together and see some serie in the TV.
The studying thing, at least for me, has never been too problematic. I obtain good grades, although the last year is an exception for that rule... My brother is another matter, but I think he's studying more lately.
Almost I never get bored at home. I have always a book to read, something to look for in Internet, something to write in the computer, someone to talk, something to do... and if I don't, I can go out with a friend.
Almost we never get sick at home. Or at least, I don't. However, my brother is having a very bad year...
My parents are happily married since... how many years, exactly? Twenty two years? Maybe. My brother and I have the habit of create derivated names of Mum and Dad to call them different things. It's like a game.
At home, I do the cooking almost every day. My parents were outside at that time, but I don't mind. My brother helps me often, especially when there's something to be fried.
We have never had a problem like a theft or something of that sort. I have always felt safe in my house, though when I was a child and I was alone, if someone knock at the door, I was terrified.
Our toilet was the first room reformated in the flat. I hardly remember how it was before, apart from the bath. Everyone likes our toilet. Actually, we have two, but the other one is smaller and we keep there the cat's litter.
My mum is always complaning about how messy and dirty the flat is, but she exaggerates.
In your home you always can get help and mine isn't a exception, though some members of my family will give it more easily than others.
And you're always welcome. It would be too bad if it wasn't that way, wouldn't it?
I have two pets at home. My two little and fatty cats, who I love completely. They're absolutely beautiful and have strong personalities. They're a great many of laughs, anecdotes and stories.
It's easy to feel comfortable at home. My bed it's one of my favourites places in the world and I love to lie down and read there. And our new couch... I couldn't fell asleep over it yet. I'm looking forward it.
Music, sometimes, it's a problem. My brother has to have his music always on. But at weekends my mum wants to play hers, so you can hear both at the same time. When I listen to mine, there are three different varities.
From time to time, TV gives us problems as well. But generally we solve that seeing one thing and recording another.
When she was younger, she was called "the discotheque's terror". My brother dances too and has a very good rhythm though most of the time he does silly things. I didn't dare to dance in front of other people before, but not now.
We usually have lunch very late, and because of that we have dinner very late, too. People normally get surprised by that, but for us it's like a tradition.
It's easy to be relaxed at home. Our neighbourhood it's very quiet so you can disconnect without no one or nothing that bothers you. If I weren't afraid of insects, I would be more time outside in the terrace, reading or taking a nap.
From time to time we play board games or card games. Or we play with the PlayStation before it got fucked.
I talk a lot with my mum and my brother. With my dad a little bit less, but that doesn't mean I don't get on well with him. I'm glad to know that I can talk with them about anything.
At home, sleep has always been an important thing. We all are real sleepyheads, leaded by my dad who, after close his eyes for two seconds (without any exaggeration), doze off. For my mum is difficult to fall asleep but then to wake up gives her more problems. With my brother occurs the same thing; I get angry with him many times while I'm trying to awake him. I love sleeping but if it's necessary to get up early, I'll do it.
  • Me divierto mucho con mi hermano. Dice muchas tonterías que siempre me hacen reír. I have a lot of fun with my brother, he is always saying silly things that make me laugh.
Safety, love and warmth are esential characteristics for a place to be a home, your home. Y feel every one of them in my flat, and I'm really looking forward to come back to them as soon as possible.
